Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCauley celebrated the diamond anniversary of their wedding at their home in Beamsville on Sunday. Among hundreds of congratulatory messages were those from the King and Queen, Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent and Harry Cavers, M.P.

During the afternoon, the Beamsville Citizens' Band, of which Mr. McCauley is one of the two living original members, visited the couple and played a recital. Miss Dorothy Manley sang a solo.

More than 150 guests called during the afternoon and evening at a reception given by Mrs. Jack Knowles. Guests were present from Michigan, New York State and various Ontario centres.

Pouring tea in the afternoon were Mrs. Robert Lister and Mrs. Laurence Hipple, and in the evening Mrs. James Aichison and Mrs. Peter Robertson. Mrs. F.M. Gayman and Miss Ethel Corcoran received guests.

Mr. McCauley was born at Seneca, and Mrs. McCauley in Milan, Michigan. They were married in Beamsville 60 years ago by the Rev. Mr. Jackson.

Mrs. McCauley was a member of the Wesley United Church choir for 50 years, and is still an active member of Trinity United Church.
