The initiative was part of a commitment by GTA policing partners to work together in 2017 and beyond. Some of the highlights of Project ERASE included 48 people ticketed for speeding, five charged with distracted driving, two charged with careless driving and one charged with driving while their licence was suspended. Police inspected eight vehicles, taking one out of service for safety reasons. One individual was charged with stunt driving for allegedly driving 70 km/hr over the posted speed limit. The driver' s Ferrari was seized and they received a seven-day licence suspension. Friday' s enforcement blitz was one of three planned GTA-wide joint operations that will take place this year to deter, disrupt and detect illegal racing activities. Members of the public are encouraged to call 911 to report vehicles racing or driving aggressively. Police are reminding residents that community safety is a shared responsibility and road users need to eliminate distractions, obey traffic control signals and speed limits and drive according to traffic, road and weather conditions. Citizens wishing to report a traffic concern can do so at www.haltonpolice.ca and submit an online traffic complaint. ·E U R O T O P s in g le m a t tr ess Re g. $ 700 DOUBLEMATTRESS QUEEN MATTRESS...
