"My grandson was bom there last week and yes, it's a little cramped." In anticipation of a 20% to 25% birth rate increase over the next four to five years, the hospi tal plans to add 14 labour, birth, recovery and post partum care rooms, a 24-bed maternal child unit, a special care nursery with eight bassinets, plus an outpatient area for prenatal and breastfeeding clin ics, triage and ultrasound, said Sharman. "In two years, we hope to invite all of Oakville to our new site and see what you've done for this community," said Don Jarrett, board chair, Oakville YMCA. The money will be used to purchase equip ment for the Y 's new W ellness and ChildCare and Adventure Centre facilities in its new building to be constructed at its present Rebecca Street location. This equipment will include eight recum bent bicycles with heart rate sensors, 12 treadm ills with heart rate sen sors, six weight training machines; infant and toddler playground supplies; preschool, infant and toddler program /room supplies; plus a 45foot clim bing wall, 30-foot clim bing wall, and an eight-foot children's practice tunnel. In addition to the eight major prizes won on Friday night's gala, the lottery also awarded 2,458 prizes, which were drawn last week. All winners will be contacted by telephone or mail, as well as being listed in the Oakville Beaver. At a reception hosted by Peter Gilgan of M attamy Homes, the Com m unity Foundation o f O akville recognized the trades and suppli ers of M attamy Homes whose contributions of over $100,000 will be added to the bottom line to benefit the lottery's recipients. She started piano lessons at five years of age and then was asked to sing "OH CANADA" for the Oakville Blades hockey game at the age of seven . She followed up with singing lessons with Linda Fletcher. Since that time she has sung "OH CANADA" many times, including a special opening for Elvis Stojko in Oakville. Her list of singing certificates include, grade 1 RCM honours with distinction, grade 2 vocal and grade 1 piano with honours. Taylor Anne performed at the Living Arts Centre with `Voices of Night' and is a member of the youth choir at Walton United Church in Oakville. Recently she received a `scholarship' along with 3 first place awards for vocal at the Burlington Fall Music Festival.
