Police allege the Burlington victim was tricked into handing over a large amount of money to an individual who claimed to be a member of the Toronto Police Service and said he could get the victim employment with the police in exchange for a fee. After the money was exchanged police say various excuses were given for the lack of an employment offer. Officers were contacted July 12 and are inves tigating this incident and whether similar offers were made to others. Police are reminding residents that legitimate employment opportunities will never involve the exchange of money. Jagjit Singh has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and impersonating a police officer. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court ofJustice in Milton on Wednesday, Aug. 16. Police said a woman was walking her dog at Nottinghill Gate Park in Glen Abbey at around 4 p.m., when she saw a man sitting on a park bench who appeared to be masturbating. Officers were called to the scene and a suspect was arrested. Carlin Savell, 31, of Oakville has been charged with committing an indecent act.
