Art curator Dawn-Angela Seeley sources and pres ents artists for consideration to the W hole Foods team and organizes six show s per year. The current student show exhibits students' work in commemoration of Canada' s 150th birthday. Participating artists are: Jack Cai, Nadine Brenninkmeyer, Ella Feberwee, Kayli Lamb, Katie MacNicholas, Ivan Price, Kayla Sapir, Cara Smith and Avery Walker. The students range in age from 10-15 years and the ex hibit is entitled Birthday pAR Ty , a student show and sale of First Nations inspired art. Students were challenged to research and observe First Nations art styles and applied them to their ow n paintings -- acrylics on stark white canvases, showing symbols, beliefs, dreams and traditions that celebrate the awareness of a people w hose art origi nated before Canada began counting to 150. The chorus has accepted one of 10 coveted international wildcard invita tions. The 65-m em ber chorus now has 18 m onths to prepare for its m aiden voyage to the semi-final round o f the Sweet Ade lines International com petition, w hich w ill be held next fall in in St. Louis, Mo. The Oakville-based chorus w ill join other four-part harm ony groups from all over the w orld -- including Sweden, Australia and N ew Zealand -- in the in ternational barbershop com petition. Circle of Harmony is a chapter of Sweet A delines International and is a registered Canadian charity.
