"We just want to do something to remember Maddie. She was very caring. She was always mature for her age and a very motherly figure. We figured this would be a good way to remember her and keep her legacy alive," said Doug. "Maddie was such a caring, inclusive little girl. He noted the family created and placed 60 stickers on the items as logos and the number of toys they received "far exceeded" the number of stickers they printed. Doug estimates they donated upwards of 100 toys to KSM and Halton W omen' s Place this year. Maddie' s sister, Kayla, 12, helps out with delivering the toys, w hich consisted of plush animals, dolls, chalk, board games and others, for children of various ages. "Kayla' s key to bringing the donations. We go with her and w e give them out," said Doug. Every year, the Costantini family also takes part in Meagan' s Walk in Toronto -- a fivekilometre stroll that raises funds for paediatric brain tumour research at Toronto' s SickKids Elospital - which, following Maddie' s death, inspired the family to do something similar to continue Maddie' s legacy, Doug said. "Maddie was always afraid people would forget her w hen she died because she knew she was going to die," said Doug. ^ Maddie was always afraid people would forget her when she died because she knew she was going to die. "Christmas gets all the attention for toys and there' s probably a need for toys throughout the year for children w ho don't have them," said Doug. Though this is just the second year for Maddie' s Lil Angels, the community support the family has received already has been "very heartwarming," Doug said. "We've been overwhelmed with the support w e get from family, friends, even m y work, which had a toy drive that got donations, as w ell," said Doug. "We're going to keep it going as long as we can. Each year w e will do it around the same time." Great food, Great people, Great new look LeaseBusters.com is the largest vehicle lease marketplace in Canada.
