The wagon rides were part of the Oakville BIA's Christmas Magic. The evening also featured strolling carollers. Christmas Magic activities continue on Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th and 23rd, with strolling caroilers and free horse drawn wagon rides with Santa from noon to 4 p.m., and strolling carollers on Fridays, Dec. 15th and 22nd, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. KerrStreet Com m unity Services appeals for help at Christm as Are you able to help a neighbour in need this holiday season? Kerr Street Community Services is a charitable work supported by local Christian churches and community organizations. It assists needy Oakville residents, including seniors, adults with disabilities and families in difficult cir cumstances. Since 1996, the centre has been active in the Kerr Street community, providing an increasing range of ser vices, programs and children's activi ties. It supports more than 400 house holds (850-plus individuals) from Oakville, as well as Burlington, Milton and Mississauga. Kerr Street Community Services is aware of families who are struggling right now and need your help. There are a few flexible options for those who want to assist. During the holiday sea son, aid to families usually consists of gift certificates to provide food, cloth ing and children's gifts. This allows par ents to have the joy of providing exact ly what their children have requested. An organization or group may choose to participate by making a gen erous financial donation to provide gift certificates to those in need. A group may want to join in pur chasing gift certificate, in values that reflect an appropriate gift. This includes food, clothing, toys and accessories. The recommended range of gifts is $50 per person (including food and acces sories) or $200 for a family of four. Your group may wish to help a spe cific family, based on their needs, shop ping and delivering items. The centre appreciates every gift received.
