T his w eek, the Region o f Halton announced he has been hired as plan ning c o o rd in a to r fo r H alto n 's E m ergency P lanning Services. W h ile w ith the O akville F ire D epartm ent, G ould w as responsible for th e ov erh au l o f the T ow n's E m ergency Plan, and he also served as H alton's Regional Fire C oordinator for the past three years. "W ayne G ould has been instrum en tal in assisting H alton in the develop m ent o f its em ergency preparedness over the past 10 years as a m em ber o f o u r R eg ional E m ergency P lanning A dvisory C om m ittee," said H alton's C h ief A dm inistrative O fficer, B rent M arshall. Bom in 1943, Franklin "Pancho" Huddle earned his B.A. from Brown University in Linguistics in 1965 and was thereafter a University Fellow in Linguistics at C olum bia University. In 1970, he received an M .A. in Middle Eastern History and Languages from H arvard University, he received his Ph.D. from H arvard specializing in Asiatic Russia (economic history) in 1978. This festival provides local business es and groups an opportunity to help raise funds for the Children's W ish Foundation, and to showcase their busi ness or organization. Last year, Bronte Creek raised over $1,400 for the C hildren's W ish Foundation. The festival runs from Dec. 6th to Jan. 7th. As part o f the festival, trees, to be decorated by various groups, will be on display for public viewing in the park's W inter W onderland structure.
