Dr. W.J. Deadman, pathologist at the General Hospital in Hamilton, was the only witness called at the adjourned inquest in Cayuga Thursday night into the death of Mrs. Jean Ellis, 23-year-old Cayuga mother who died at the General Hospital here on October 27 from lead poisoning alleged to have been administered in an illegal operation.
The jury returned the following verdict to Coroner Dr. J. Thrush: "Mrs. Ellis came to her death from lead poisoning administered by Mrs. W. Walters."
Mrs. Walters had been remanded until November 16 for preliminary hearing on a manslaughter count.
