D2 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, November 15, 2000 Lukajic has great start to college career Mike Lukajic, a grad from last year's Oakville Blades and now suiting up with Oswego State Great Laker hockey team had a great opening weekend of conference play and was named the SUNY (State University of New York) Athletic Conference/ECAC Player of the Week. Lukajic, who played on the Blades top line last year with Mike Tarantino and Bob Jaggard (who are also on U.S. schol arships), scored seven points in two victories, making him an early front-runner in conference scoring. In Friday's 5-1 win over Brockport, he contributed two goals and an assist. In Saturday's 7-3 comeback win over Geneseo, he put up his first career hat-trick (including the game winner) along with an assist. Lukajic, last year, was third in Blades scoring (and 18th in the west conference of the provincial junior A division) behind his linemates, Tarantino and Jaggard. MERCYHURST Four former Blades are helping highly touted Mercyhurst College to a 5-1-1 over all record (including 5-0-1 in their conference). Defenceman Mike Muldoon got off to a fast start with two goals and four assists in his first five games, sixth best on this team. Other ex-Blades include forward RJ. Hiscock (lg, 3a in 7 games), forward Brad McDonald (2a in two games) and defenceman Marc Varteressian (pointless in four games). As a member of the accounting department, Linda liaises with the other departments at the newspaper and other employees of papers in the Metroland chain. When not balancing the books, Linda takes joy in the company of her 4 daughters and, recently welcomed grandson Johnathan. She enjoys sewing, crafts, painting and reading. (Linda's crafted gift items are treasured shower gifts by fellow employees) Linda is involved with the Parent Advisory Council for her daughter's school and volunteers with Girl Guides.
