THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, October 18, 2000 Cm are awesome in London The Oakville C rusaders' near perfect record of 13 wins and one loss gave them first place over the regular season in the top Ontario Rugby Union league. · T h ey 'll host their opening M cC orm ick Cup p layoff game Saturday at 3 p.m. against Markham. The Crusaders tuned up for the playoffs with an emphatic 100-0 exhibition win over London last Saturday. Unfortunately, the club's sec ond and third teams could have used some of those points as they both went down to defeat in the first round of the Toronto Rugby Union playoffs. In particular, the second team fell short by the slimmest of margins, losing 3029 to York Yeoman. The third team lost 41-5 to Balmy Beach. Both of their playoff formats, however, are round robin, so they are still alive and also in action this weekend.
