An OSCAR performance in Oakville The Oakville Soccer Club held its annual huge OSCAR girls rep tourney on the week end with about 60 teams in atten dance in five age categories -- U-10, U-l l , U-12, U-14, U-15 and U-16. Oakville won the champi onship in the middle age cate gories with the Oakville Avalanche winning the U-12 championship 3-1 over Durham Movers and the Oakville Cobras winning the U-14 championship 2-0 over Richmond Hill Twisters. In the two oldest age cate gories, Oakville teams were finalists, the Oakville Twisters losing the U-15 championship 20 to Dixie and the Oakville Angels losing the U-16 final to Dixie. In the youngest age groups, Glen Shields Sun Devils won the U-10 championship 1-0 over Brams United and Kitchener won the U-l l championship 7-2 over North Mississauga. EXHIBITION MATCH The tourney featured a Saturday night friendly between a group of Oakville select players and the Toronto Inferno who forged an 8-5-1 record in only its second year in North America's top professional women's soccer league.
