This year' s bazaar w ill be held at St. Volodymyr Cultural Centre, 1280 Dundas St., W , from noon to midnight. Admission is free. Oakville is a rapidly growing city with an even faster growing South Asian, particularly Muslim population, said Muneezah Jawad, w ho is organizing the event with her partner Zaitoon Umer. "We want everyone to com e out and have som e fun," added Jawad. Jawad hopes the bazaar w ill bring the South Asian and Oakville com m unities to gether and create a better understanding all around. She said these kinds of events only re ally happen in Mississauga, Brampton and Malton. Following the Peel lead Her m ission is to make this bazaar an an nual event.This year' s bazaar will feature m any members of the Oakville community and there are already 50 vendors participat ing. There w ill also be raffles and prizes. Halton MPP Indira Naidoo-Harris is a guest speaker at 3 p.m. Zaytouna Dabke, a Palestinian and Middle Eastern dance group, will be performing at 3:30 p.m. and there will be a live reptile show at 5 p.m. "We w ould like to encourage new busi nesses to expand into the Town of Oakville and m ost importantly w e w ould love it if members from all faiths w ould attend," Jawad said in a media release. This time, Jawad said she hopes this event will be even better this year. "We strongly believe in the words `unity and com m unity' to strengthen the ties in Oakville between people of all faiths and be liefs and cultures," the release added.
