A4 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday August 23, 2000 Survey finds residents pleased with trash collection Satisfaction with regional waste collection is high, according to a survey presented to Halton Regional Council by the Region's Planning and Public Works Department. The Waste Collection Satisfaction Survey, earned out this spring by an independent consultant for Halton Region, was designed to assess the current level of customer satisfaction with Halton's waste collection services. The survey indicates that approximately 90% of respondents are satisfied with Halton Region's waste collection and 85% are satisfied with the recycling collection. In addition, about 90% of residents are pleased with the service they receive from Halton Region staff. "We are very pleased with the results of this survey. Finding out what our residents think about our services is an important part of our commitment to meeting the needs of our community. By conducting surveys, we leam about our performance, where to make improvements, and how to maintain this high level of satisfaction with our customers," said John Smith, senior waste management coordinator. This survey speaks to the energy and dedication of staff towards making our waste management program a success," added Patrick Murphy, Commissioner, Planning and Public Works, Halton Region. Featured entertainment will also include: the Pipes and Drums of the Lome Scots Regiment of Canada, Town of Dundas Pipes and Drums, Burlington Teen Tour Band, Argyllshire Dancers, Don McGeoch, The Band of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, Aspects of Dance, Pipes and Drums of the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada and the Halton Regional Police Honour Guard. Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children under 12 or $30 per family (two adults, two children). Call the advance ticket hotline at 825-4805. Prices at the gate are $12 for adults, $10 for children and $32 per family. There will be a free shuttle bus service with pick-ups commencing at 6:10 p.m. at the southwest comer of Burlington Mall. The sell-out tattoo held two years ago as part of HRPS' 25th Anniversary was a huge success that featured three hours of entertainment featuring 15 presentations by more than 600 performers.
