Predeceased by her parents Lawrence Rafuse and Ruth Sutherland (Atwood) and brother Lawrence Kirk, Elizabeth Anne (nee Rafuse) was born in Halifax Nova Scotia. Liz is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Gordon and their three daughters Lisa (Paul Ryce), Anji (Gord Jackson) and Gillian. Nannie was a very special grand mother and leaves behind her granddaughters, whom she was so very proud of: Rachel, Rebecca, Paige and Ava Ryce and Tiffany Jackson. She was also a beloved sister to Susan Sutherland (Halifax), cherished sister-in law Kathy Ross (Halifax), half-sister, aunt, cousin, friend, niece and neighbour. Liz devoted her time to raising her family while becoming a well respected ceramic artist and teacher cultivating her craft for over 40 years in both Montreal and Mississauga. She had a passion for spiritual exploration and never stopped learning. We were blessed with the opportunity to care for her at home in her final days and it is there that she slipped away peacefully. We wish to thank her palliative care team at CCAC and especially her nurse Kamila, who kept her spirits high regardless of her prognosis. Cremation has taken place. We will be honouring Liz's wishes with a Celebrate Of Life which will take place in the coming weeks. Please visit glenoaks.ca for more details. We will miss her love of life, stories and the way that she made us all feel special. She was a unique kind soul... a wonderful mother, wife and friend.
