Game 5 of the best-of-seven South-West Conference quarter final series is set for 7 :3 0 p.m. at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The Blades had the chance to sweep the Rangers Wednesday night at the Herbert Carnegie Cen tre, but North York recovered from blowing a 4-1 third-period lead to take the fourth game of the series 5 -4 in double overtime. The Blades found themselves down 4-1 after two periods but rallied on goals by Jackson Bales, Ryan Foss and Drew W orrad to force OT. Foss's goal came on the power play. North York's Nick Zanette finally decided the contest when he beat Oakville goalie Brendan McGlynn after 8 6 :4 5 minutes of play. The Blades' other goal Wednes day was scored by Tyler Hildebrandt in the second period. In Game 3 of the series a night earlier in Oakville, the Blades' Chris Brill-Morgan broke a 1-1 tie in the second and added an in surance marker in the third in his team's 3-1 victory. McGlynn made 31 saves for the win, allowing North York its only goal 8 :1 2 into the game. It took just Bryce Misley just a minute to answer for the Blades. It stayed that way until the final five minutes of the second period when Brill-Morgan scored his first of two. The Blades won the first two games of the series by scores of 2-1 and 3-2. "Connected to yo u r Community" Davison sisters earntwo OUA all-rookie awards The Davison family made up a third of the Ontario University Athletics wom en's hockey all rookie team. Oakville's Sydney Davison and sister Taylor Davison both earned spots on the all-rookie squad. Sydney scored twice in her de but with the Guelph Gryphons and went on to finish the year with nine goals (third on the Gryphons and tied for 15 th in the OuA) and four assists in 20 games. Guelph finished first in the OUA with a 20-3-1 record and will play Nipissing in the OUA fi nal tomorrow (Saturday). Taylor led all York Lions blueliners in scoring with three goals and six assists in 22 games. That ranked 12th overall among de fencemen in the OUA. s p r i n t c h a m p National intermediate champ Nexxice includes five locals Five members of the N exxice intermediate synchro nized skating team that won the Canadian champi onship in Calgary recently are from Oakville. Victoria Corbett, Daniela Fisico, Lesaundra Passafiume, Anna W dowczyk and Zdenka Neilson helped N exxice finish first in both of their performances. Comprised of 2 0 skaters, this team skated to The Drop that Contained the Sea and portrayed water and elements of nature. N exxice took the gold medal with 120.53 points in total, ahead of second-place Ilderton (O nt.) Silver Jets (1 1 6 .8 7 ) and third-place Nova from Quebec. Fifteen teams competed in the intermediate divi sion. N exxice was awarded Skate Canada gold medals and cowboy hats to com m em orate the champion ship in Calgary. The Burlington-based Nexxice intermediate synchronized skating team won the Canadian championship in Calgary recently.
