www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Friday, February 24, 2 0 1 7 | 4 YMCA of Oakville launches Strong Kids campaign The YMCA of Oakville hopes its annual Strong Kids campaign will help build a stronger community for children in need. The local YMCA officially kicked off the campaign on Family Day (Monday, Feb. 20), at the Peter Gilgan Family YMCA on Rebecca Street. Running now until March 20, the campaign raises funds and awareness with a view to ensuring all individuals and families in Oakville have access to health and wellness, summer camp and child-care programs, without regard to financial limitations. Strong Kids Campaign donations provide financial assistance to those in need by subsidizing their costs to participate in YMCA programs. "When we all come together to ensure everyone has the same opportunities to thrive, we invest in our community and help build a stronger, more vibrant Oakville. Donors to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign help give everyone, regardless of age, income or background, the opportunity to benefit from programs like health and wellness, leadership development, child care or camp," stated YMCA of Oakville President and CEO Kyle Barber, in a media release. At the launch, YMCA of Oakville Board Chair Michael Shaen spoke about the impact of the financial assistance it provides for those in need in Oakville. Alicia Sullivan was at the launch also to speak about her experience with her son's before and after school care at the YMCA. Save N o w 20 Nature Shop Come and See Us! OPEN 7 DAYS lb.
