Out in a Blaze of glory The Oakville Blaze boys U16 all star team went into the final Scarborough tourney over the Sept. 30-Oct. 1 weekend with something to prove. Going undefeated in the pre vious three tournament prelimi naries but unable to make it past the semifinals, the Oakville boys were not looking to repeat the same result. On Saturday, the Oakville Blaze went undefeated, outscoring their three opponents 14-2. They entered the semifinals, facing their arch rivals. North Mississauga. And it looked like history would repeat itself with Oakville trailing 1-0 with just a few min utes left. But Oakville's Travis Dom capitalized off a 30 yard free kick to tie the game. After two halves of scoreless overtime, the two teams went into penalty shots with Oakville winning 5-4. It was like they did n't want to let each other down. The championship game was scoreless throughout regulation time but unfortunately it was Brampton with the Golden Goal in sudden death overtime. Oakville controlled the majority of the match but just couldn't put one by a hot goal keeper. Team members: James Russell, Jeremy Maxwell, Gary Rookyard, Anthony Gustin, Michael Szarka, Russell Palmer, James Kozak, Mark Curtis, Mark Van Burgsteden, Evan Morton, Nathan Ulmer, Michael Venditti, Tristan Neal, Liam Lindop and Mark Bemardi. Coach Michael Brajak and assis tant coach Giancarlo Marrelli.
