The event, held at St. Thom as Aquinas Catholic Secondary School, featured 138 boys and girls ages 9-14, many of whom w on school com petitions to advance to Saturday's affair. "We had am azing participation from over 90 per cent of our Catholic el ementary and secondary schools throughout the Oakville area," said Andrew Eckstein of the Knights of Colum bus. On hand to support the event were local M P John Oliver, MPP Kevin Flynn, Mayor Rob Burton, Halton Catholic District School Board Superin tendent Tim Overholt, Oakville councillor Ray Chisholm and K of C district deputy Steve Reynolds. The competition also included Special Olympics kids sinking baskets. Those results will be published when they're available. The top two shooters from each of the 10 divisions will head to C orpus Christi Catholic Secondary School tomorrow (Friday) in Burlington in the next step of a competition that eventually determines North American cham pions.
