Before you leave home: Pre-sort loads for quick and easy unloading. Loads must be sorted by material type Remove all fluids (for example, gas, oil) from gas-powered equipment such as lawnmowers Empty oil drums and tanks and cut in half Secure all open loads with a tarp or rope. Arrange for additional assistance to help unload heavy material, if required. Container Station In addition to garbage disposal, the following materials can be dropped o ff and diverted from landfill (fees apply to the following items): Appliances ($5 p e r a p p lia n c e ) Wood Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Depot Halton residents can safely dispose o f household hazardous waste, free o f charge, by dropping it off at the Household Hazardous Waste Depot, conveniently located within the Halton Waste Management Site. The Paint & Stain Reuse Depot is conveniently located beside the Household Hazardous Waste Depot at the HWMS. The HWMS cannot guarantee which colours will be available. The Paint and Stain Reuse Depot is open from mid-spring to mid-fall to prevent materials from freezing.
