Specially Attractive this Season ers,” was a good one, and the different parts were handled in a manner that reflected f'g‘reat’ credit on the dramatic ability of the participants. The easy way in which all performed the duty assigned to them put the play on the boards in a light that could not but receive the appreciation of the audience, and where all did so well it is impossible to rate one above another. However, we might mention Mr. VVil- fred Crossley, who took the part of a colored servant, and to say that he fillâ€" ed the position in professional style would be saying none too much. The orchestra furnished excellent music during the evening, and the entertain- ‘ment ended by the rendition of the laughable farce, “Who is who, or All in a Fog.” In this, as in the drama, the actors acquitted themselves in ex- cellent style and sent the audience home feeling that they had spent a pleasant evening. ' We cannot say that the patronage was as good as the per- formance, which circumstance is very much to be regretted, as we consider the citizens" band of M illbrook one of the beSt in the district, and deserving of the support of the town. Bradshaw, sr., of South Monaghan, attempted to commit sui- cide by cutting her throat on Friday last, and very nearly succeeded. It seems that the Bradshaw residence was destroyed by fire a short time ago and that for some time past Mrs. Brad- shaw brooded over the misfortune to such an extent that it somewhat un- hinged her reason. Since the fire they have been living with their son. About moon on Friday, the old lady dressed herself in her best clothes, and, going outside the front door, cut her throat with a carving knife. She was found almost immediately afterwards and surgical aid was summoned to save her life. Drs. Gray, Montgomery and King were called and through their skilful efl'orts her life thus far has been prolonged, though she has been very low. ‘ I â€"The leading sewing machine in Canada now is the New Williams.
