While some old hoes had disap- peared some of the new men had had municip \1 experience, sud he then rht the town had a good council to look after affairs for 1895. He hoped all business would be transacted without “mud-throw- ing" or the use of personalitiesâ€"in not in a gentlemanly manner; and that any- thing which had transpired during the election contest would be kept outside the council chamber. The council would have to appoint that evening a board of health and town auditors. Another mat- ter that would soon present itself for con- sideration was the ï¬re hall and stableâ€" the present position is unsuitable and leads to a disgraceful state of things in summer owing to proximity to the mar- ket. He was one of those who had opp )sed spending any money on the present bulld~ ing. but he had been overruled, and al- most enough had been spent in rep wire to build a decent hall. They should utilize one of the town buildings i if a hall and erect a stable in the rear. Then there was the erection of a town hvspital to be consider- ed, and the necessity is a pressing one. He understood some of the members of the board oi! health were present and would addrns the council upon the sub. Ject during the evening. LINDSAY as A SUMMER RESORT.
