POTTS, Mary "Isobel" nee Brock Found eternal peace on Friday, January 13, 2017 while her family held vigil by her side at Sheridan Villa. Isobel was 70 years of age. Predeceased by her husband Francis " Frank" Potts. Loving mother of Stacie O'Hara (John) of Oakville, ON and Shauna Potts of Tega Cay, South Carolina. Playful and devoted grandmother to Ryan, Sage, Egann and Ella. Isobel was born in Collingwood, Ontario in 1946 and was predeceased by her parents Ella and Clarence Brock of Nottawa, ON. She is fondly remembered by her husband's family; Ron Potts (Cathie) of Collingwood, ON; Yvonne Walters (Len) of Wingham, ON; Royetta Clark (Charlie) of Aurora, ON and several nieces and nephews. Isobel is renowned for her obsessive enthusiasm for anything pertaining to Elvis Presley, her contagious smile that would brighten a room and her mischievous character that looked for fun and frolic with friends and especially with her grandchildren. A special thank you to Helen and Susie and the staff at Albany Retirement Village who granted Isobel her greatest wish when moving from her Florence Avenue home to Albany; the permission to bring her furry companion. Another heartfelt thank you to the residents of Petrolia, ON who surrounded Isobel with love, assistance and protection when her family was not in the area as her capacity declined. Isobel's family cannot find the words significant enough to express the magnitude of gratitude for her earthly angels; Lois, Marg, and Nancy. Though her mind could not remember, her heart overflowed with the love that she felt. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, 11 a.m., St. Paul's United Church, 4169 Petrolia Line, Petrolia, ON. In lieu of flowers a donation in Isobel's memory to the Humane Society, local Chapter of the Rotary Club or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. WAKE, Grace Early Tuesday, January 10th, our Falgarwood community lost its Grand Duchess, Grace Wake. A feisty, strong, opinionated Scottish redhead, Grace loved all animals (dogs in particular) and all children (Falgarwood Public School kids in particular) and managed to combine these loves in her 11 year career as an award winning school crossing guard. She had a smile and word of advice for every child and a dog biscuit for every dog" on her watch" . Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Grace immigrated to Canada in her early twenties and shortly after met her husband, Ray. They started their lives and careers together as Arthur Murray dance instructors, later both moving to retail sales with Simpson's and The Bay. Predeceased by her husband of over fifty years, her parents and her twelve sisters and brothers, Grace was the last matriarch of her generation. She leaves many nieces and nephews, including her neighbour and niece, Tilda Forbes and her family. Cherished by nieces Barbara Robinson and Jeanette and husband Nelson Sha of Langley, BC. We will miss her laugh, her flashing blue eyes, her ever present support and her remarkable spirit. She will always remain our role model for living independently and honouring her own voice. A celebration of the impact of her life is scheduled for Saturday, February 25th, 2 p.m. at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville. If you wish to acknowledge and support Grace's love of animals, please feel free to contribute to the Oakville & Milton Humane Society in her honour.
