The best local finish was authoured by Kyle Jones of Q.E. Park with a fifth place in the midget boys 3,000 metres in a time of 9:23.94. The winning time was 9:14.08. In the 1500m event, Jones finished 11th in the championship race which he advanced to with a 10th place finish in the preliminary round (4:26.84). It capped off quite a run for Jones who was a member of the five-man team from Q.E. Park which competed earlier this year at the world cross coun try championships in Morocco. Although still in the midget division, Jones posted the school's best result, finishing 39th in a field well over 100. Jones was a one-man wrecking crew on his way to OFSAA, winning both the 1500m and 3000m events at both the south regional and G-HAC/Halton meets. O akville's second best finish at OFSAA was in the junior boys high jum p where Anthony Marshall of Loyola finished 6th with a 1.9m leap (winning jum p was 2.04m). There were three other top-10 finish es by Oakville athletes: Kim Lavecchia (St. Thomas Aquinas) was ninth in junior girl's dis cus in 31.67 metres; Courtney Kirkby (Q.E.
