Employees are more custom to processing and distributing TVs, snowblowers, lawnmowers, table saws and barbecues, to name a few. Superintendent Allan MacDonald said Swanson has been one of the best delivery agents hes worked with at the Oakville depot. She hasn't had any complaints from customers or co-workers since she began. "To me, not one in 45 years is phenomenal. She does take care of all our customers on a oneto-one basis, which is great," said MacDonald. Canada Post has undergone significant changes since Swanson began delivering items, but they haven't stopped her. "A person who' s been here 45 years can keep up with the changes and not (get overwhelmed)... it' s hard to keep up with the changes, but she has accepted the changes and everything else, which is good," said MacDonald. Garrett called Swanson one of the most "dependable carriers that we ever had. We never had a worry, whether she was going to come to work or not. She was always there. You could count on her. Her customers could count on her. When you have somebody dedicated like her, it' s very, very important," said Garrett. With all the changes Swanson faced over the years, the biggest lesson she learned at Canada Post was to stay positive to change. "If you don't, you're done," she said. "The job teaches you endurance... you have to keep going and you have to persevere. We're the most committed people in the world to do our job."
