The undefeated Young, 10-0 0 with eight knockouts, will be m oving up a class to fight Phil `The A ssassin' Rose (5-4-1, four knockouts) in a middleweight bout Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Hershey Centre in M ississauga. Young is taking the fight on short notice after Rose's original opponent, Tim Cronin, w as in jured while training. Young w on the vacant Cana dian super welterweight title in September with a third-round knockout of Ryan Wagner. Sum m ing up the Oakville Tra falgar Red Devils' performance at the Ontario Rugby High School Sevens Cham pionship without sounding boastful m ay prove to be the biggest challenge yet. After a bit of prodding, he finally relents, "No, not really," he says. Oakville Trafalgar, already a dom inating force in high school rugby, has found another, and pos sibly even better, way to rule the sport. The Red Devils have claimed 40 of the last 44 Halton senior boys' and girls' rugby titles in the tradi tional 15-aside gam e played in the spring and are showing they might be even better in the rapidly grow ing rugby sevens. O T's boys' team defeated Dun barton 32-19 to claim the provin cial title, capping a season that saw it go a perfect 15-0 in tournam ent play. The Red Devils girls also entered the cham pionship gam e without a single loss. However, m issing sev eral players for the final, they had to settle for the silver medal after Oakville's Michael `Pinball' Clemons (far right) was one of seven inductees to Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in ceremonies held Monday in Toronto. They'll be back in Oakville Saturday night when the fifth-place W hitby Wolves (8-2-1) attempt to slow down the Hornets, who are undefeated with 12 wins and two ties for 26 points. Oakville has a five-point lead on second-place Nepean as of Nov. 2. Game time at Jo sh u a's Creek Arenas is 3:30 p.m. The Hornets have been idle since blanking Aurora 5-0 on Oct. 23. Clemons among seven in class of 2 0 1 6 Grey Cup winning player, coach now a member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame Michael `Pinball' Clem ons, who won three Grey Cup cham pion ships as a player with the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argo nauts and another coaching the team, was one of seven inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fam e M onday in Toronto. He w as jo in e d by fellow Halton residen t Dr. F ran k H ayden, a Burlington residen t w ho is one of the foun ders of the Special O lym pics. Others inducted included six-time Stanley Cup winner Bryan Trottier, Olympic medallists Sue Holloway (canoe-kayak/cross-country skiing) and Annie Perreault (speed skat ing), paralympic swimming medallist Stephanie Dixon and two-time world curling champion Colleen Jones. Clem ons is the professional foot ball record holder for m ost career all-purpose yards with 25,483, re tiring with 12 all-time team records to his credit. He w as the CFLs M ost Outstanding Player in 1990 and w as twice a C FL all-star. In 2004 as coach of the Argos, Clem ons led the team to the Grey Cup title. He is the second-winningest coach in Argo history with 68 wins. Clem ons continues to contribute to the com m unity with his tire less w ork for charities, schools and com m unity groups.
