Dearest loving husband of 44 years to Gerrie and exceptionally proud and loving father of Sarah Chadha and her husband Sanjiv, Amy Khalid, and Aaron Khalid and his wife Catherine. He will be missed by his three precious young grandchildren Reya, Krishan and Ayden Chadha who were Munir's delight and the shining stars in his eyes. He was a kind hearted, gentle and generous man but also a fervent union supporter who loved a challenge, his colleagues and the many friends he made over his working years and in retirement. Leonard John Peacefully, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Sunday, November 20, 2016, Fr. Leonard Strohmeyer in his 77 year of life and 51st year of his Priesthood. Predeceased by his parents Mary (nèe O'Neill) and Leonard Strohmeyer. He is survived by his cousins Rose Marie Grillo (and her daughters Marisa, Alessia, and Sabrina), Suzanne Hayes, Lynda Tyler, and Paul Neubauer, as well his cousins in Germany, Christine Wimmer, and Lou Failer, as well as by many friends. Fr. Strohmeyer served the Hamilton Diocese at various parishes in Hamilton as an associate Pastor, then as Pastor at St. Ambrose Parish, Cambridge, St. Matthew Parish, Oakville, where he was the founding Pastor, Corpus Christi Parish, Hamilton, and then Canadian Martyrs Parish, Hamilton. For the past several years, Father was Chaplain for both the School Sisters of Notre Dame, and the Sisters of St. Joseph. Father taught at Cathedral Boys High School, Hamilton, and was appointed to the Toronto Regional Matrimonial Tribunal, serving for 7 years. Visitation on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the P.X. Cherished mother of Paula (Colin Tobias); Mark (Patti Murphy); Sven (Marie Temming); Sonja (Simon Garrett); and Sandra (Sandy Hart). Precious grandmother of Grace; Meagan and Matilda; Shawn, Nina and Naomi; Cassidy and Remy; and Rob, Katie, Niall and Tarn. Greatgrandmother of Kohei. Predeceased by three siblings and survived by one sister, Eleanor Johnson. Kay was a founding member of Trinity United Church, Oakville, former President of the Oakville Big Sisters Association and a long standing supporter of the Roofs for the Roofless project in India. In 1987, Kay was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from the Town of Oakville, in recognition of her dedication to charitable work with families in need in Oakville. Mom loved skiing, painting, playing bridge, gardening, travelling and most of all, helping those less fortunate than herself. She lived most of her adult life in Ontario but never stopped being "from down home" in Saint John, New Brunswick. Mom died as she lived, with strength, courage, dignity and good humour, enveloped in the loving embrace of her five children. We will miss her beyond measure. The family would like to thank the staff at Silverthorn Care Community for their exceptional care of Kay for the last six years and also gratefully acknowledge the nursing staff at Credit Valley Hospital for their kind support to Mom and the family during this difficult time. Cherished wife for 63 years of Dr. Anthony Ross who predeceased Anne in 2015. Beloved mother of Michael, Monica, Angela, Helen, Rachel, Sarah and Matthew. Grannie Annie was the loved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Born Elizabeth Anne Rodgers in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, England, she attended the University of Birmingham studying zoology. She began a teaching career in England and immigrated to Canada in 1966 settling in Oakville with her family. She joined St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School in Oakville and taught biology and science from 1975 until her retirement in 1994. A talented ballet dancer in her youth, Anne had a lifelong interest in dance and the arts. She was a keen gardener, frequently found in her beautiful gardens, digging, cutting and indeed directing at times. An indomitable spirit who touched many lives, she will be missed. A private burial will take place. A service to celebrate Anne's life and work will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds St., Oakville on Saturday, November 26 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following at the St Andrew's parish center.
