www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, November 10, 2016 | 14 Fraser put adventure on FURNACE her birthday `To do' list ON THE FRITZ? continued from p.12 Weeks later, when the family got together in celebration of Lorraine's 94th birthday, nearly 30 members were invited to join Lorraine and Alexis, but only her son Steven, who lives near Chicago, took on the challenge. Lorraine, who has three children, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, admitted she was a ball of nerves leading up to the experience. She had never done anything quite as adventurous like this before. "No fool like an old fool," Lorraine joked. As she stepped out onto the roof of the CN Tower's restaurant, she recalls being frightened of being so high up and exposed. However, with the help of a guide, Lorraine was able to calm her nerves. "He was so accommodating and said, `If you feel nervous about doing anything, don't do it.' So we did what he told us and finally, we had enough nerve to face him, walk backwards and you put your heel over the edge and then you let go of this strap and put your two arms out," she said. "The first time, I could only put one arm out, but after that I was OK and I did it."
