SIU spokesperson Monica Hudon said preliminary information suggests Halton police were called to Upper Middle Road East and Grosvenor Street early Sunday for a disturbance. There was an "interaction" between police and a 27-year-old man, the male was arrested and taken to the Oakville police station. "When the man later complained of pain, police transported him to Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital," Hudon told the Oakville Beaver in an email. "The man was diagnosed with a facial fracture." According to Halton police, the man is facing charges including, one count of assaulting a police of cer and one count of causing a disturbance. The SIU is an arm's-length agency that investigates reports involving police resulting in death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault. On Wednesday, (Oct. 19) the humane society was called to Orion Court (in the Trafalgar and Upper Middle roads area) with reports of a stray cat in distress. Upon examining the feline, humane society agents discovered a mechanical pencil had been forced into the cat's rear end so deeply that it Injured cat caused internal injuries.
