Spe cial rides, sideshows and features are planned for this mammoth carnival. / CUTTING OF RIBBON CEREMONY--This ceremony will be performed by Hubert Chisholm, esq., on Lakeshore Highway East at the 8 th Line. The Mayors and Councils of Dorval and Oak ville, and other dignitaries will witness ceremony. SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING--After a special Centennial Council Meeting, conducted by Mayor Anderson, with addresses by the Mayor of Dorval and other dignitaries, Hubert Chisholm, Esq. will officially open Oakville's lOOth Birthday Celebrations. Following this ceremony the twinning ceremony between Dorval and Oakville will take place. SAILING REGATTA--Sailing craft participating in the Centennial Sailing regatta, will take up their positions out in the Lake for the start of the first race. SEMI-FINALS CENTENNIAL LAWN TENNIS TOURNAMENTS--After a week-long elimination play, the Oakville Invitation Centennial Tournament, sanctioned by the Ontario Lawn Tennis Assn. offer Canada's best in the wind-up rounds. UNVEILING OF SCROLlr--OAKVILLE-TRAFALGAR HIGH SCHOOL--A special ceremony, un veiling the Roll of Honour, of High School students who lost their lives in the Second World War, will take place at the Oakville-Trafalgar High School. A $50 award will go to the man and another $50 to the woman having come from the greatest distance, being a former resident of Oakville and being registered at the Centennial. BAND CONCERT--AT STREET DANCE SITE-- Once again the Oakville Citizens Band will be on hand to entertain, as a preliminary to the big Street Dance. The Oakville Bandsmen will play a concert of old-time waltzes and fox-trots. 2 :0 0 underway from the Grand Union Supermarket, to proceed down Kerr Street and East along Col- bome Street. Many famous bands will be taking part in this parade, including the Oakville Citi zen's Band, the Acton Citizens Band, the Streetsville Citizens Band, the Brampton Citizens Band, the Burlington Boys and Girls Band with Majorettes, the Warren Ohio High School Band, with majorettes, the Port Credit Legion Trumpet Band, the Riverdale Trumpet band, and the Owen Sound Citizens Band. This gigantic parade, under auspices of the Oakville Branch of the Ca. nadian Manufacturers Association, w ll also feature dozens of colorful floats and marching units, together with Miss Oakville Centennial, and members of the Dorval party, in open convertibles. It is anticipated that the parade will be a mile or more in length. GYMASTIC DISPLAY--Instructors from the Cnadian Army will put on an interesting and en tertaining display of gymnastics. 5:00 MAJORETTES ON DISPLAY--Members of the Warren, Ohio unit, and other Majorettes, will take part in a specially prepared display of precision marching, and baton twirling. A huge and colorful variety show will take place on the Busby Park Stage at 8 o'clock. This will feature such outstanding names in Canadian enttertainment as Alex Bairis. Joey Hollingsworth, the Hansen Sisters, Phyllis Marshall, a beautiful dancing chorus, and a full orchestra. FIREWORKS--The day's activities will come to an end with a brilliant and colourful display of fireworks, in Busby Park.
