W ednesday, May 17, 2000 THE OAKVILLE BEAVER D1 Sports The Crusaders overrun Beach In a fast and very competitive match in Ontario's top rugby league, the Oakville Crusaders first-15 con tinued their impressive early play, defeating Balmy Beach 19-5 at Crusaders Park on Saturday. Once again, the victory was well deserved since the Beach lived up to their their reputation as a competi tive and fiery team. The Crusader forwards held their own with captain Ryan Morrison, Ian Dan and Wayne Homer excelling in the tight play as well as making some fine runs. The Crusader backs made some decisive breaks and were well led by Greg Foster at fly-half. Crusader tries were scored by Robbie Wolfenden, Dominic Miller and Greg Foster. Foster was also responsible for two conversions. NATIONAL TEAM Oakville Crusader and Oakville Trafalgar Red Devil alumni Phil Murphy is on the roster of the Canadian team in the Epsom PacRim Tournament. Canada plays Tonga at the University o f British Columbia on Saturday. ALSO ON TAP " In other action between the Cru and Balmy Beach clubs, the Cru-seconds lost 25-8, the Cru-thirds won 35-15 and the Cru-fourths lost 41-7.
