Deputy fire chief named by David Lea Oakville Beaver Staff 7 | Thursday, October 20, 2016 | OAKVILLE BEAVER | www.insideHALTON.com The Town of Oakville has appointed Paul Boissonneault its new deputy fire chief who will begin serving the community starting Monday, Oct. 24. Boissonneault has spent nearly 18 years with the fire services. He began as a volunteer firefighter, making his way to a position as a full-time firefighter with the Department of National Defense Fire Services. Boissonneault has been a fire chief since 2004 and has spent the last seven years as fire chief and community emergency management coordinator with the County of Brant. In that position, he managed all facets of the department's operations, budget development, human resources management and labour relations. He was responsible for eight fire stations, fire communications, emergency management and a department of approximately 200 personnel. "I'm extremely excited," said Boissonneault. "I'm looking forward to hitting the ground running and working with the senior management team. I'm just very excited overall. It's a great department and this is a great opportunity."
