John Bkila Sub-Editor jbkila@oakvillebeaver.com Oakville Library photo contest puts spotlight on young photographers The Oakville Public Library's annual Teen Photography Contest recently recognized the works of young shutterbugs. A panel of award-winning photographers assemble each year to judge submissions at an awards night set up by the local library, selecting winners in three categories -- Natural Environment, Enhanced (original, digitally rendered photos) and Mobile -- in two divisions, Grades 7-9 and 10-12. A "People's Choice" winner is also selected by contest participants. "The library's annual Teen Photography Contest is one of many (programs) that motivates teens to get creative, learn something new or enhance their skill sets," according to contest organizers. The contest runs annually from June-September.
