That did nothing to weaken Orono's spirits. One minute and forty seconds later, from Brian Hampson, Orono tiéd the game and again, never looked back. Orono finished the first period scoring five goals, three of those being Brian Hampson's and two belonging to Dustin Armstrong. Another great game from Kenny Jackson and Brock Dunham, keeping B3 to only three goals. Brian Hampson finished the game with four goals in a surprising explosion from the right winger. Fantastic effort from the entire team. Brian Hampson was the player of the game. Orono played their third game the next night in the new Courtice arena. They were visitors to Bowmanville #7 (Gray). In a rough, hard-hitting game, Orono had their work cut out for them. Wade Clark opened the scoring in the first, in a scramble in front of the net, assisted by Denis Beenen. Late in the second period, Orono scored again on a Brian Hampson shot, assisted again by Denis Beenen. After that, Orono fell asleep allowing B7 to score fiVe unanswered goals, four coming in the third. As a last ditch effort, Dustin Armstrong brought the game within two with a minute remaining, but too little too late. B7 kept the score to a final of 5-3 and Orono #2 was dealt their first loss. It was a great game for the whole team, especially for the goalies who kept the game from being 20- 3; they saved the team more than once in this game. Orono Country Cafe Atoms gain weekend split The Atoms took two disappointing disappointing losses at the hands of Highland Storm the previous weekend. Evan Rosseau opened the scoring on nice passes from Trevor Heming and Theo Devries. Then, Trevor Heming knotched his first goal of the year, assisted by Evan Rosseau and Michael Richards. Beaverton came back to tie the game only to have Zachary Gibson notch the winner with 2:30 left in the game assisted by Tyson Robinson and Michael Richards. Ryan Brandt was solid in goal and Jeremy Moore and Robert McKay played solid defense.
