The game started on a positive positive note, with #14, Greg Dunham, scoring on our first shot on the net. In spite of a lot of play in the Beaverton end, they came back late in the first period to tie the game. Then Beaverton got a quick goal in the second period to take the lead. Kevin Martin's goaltend ing was superb. He stopped a break-away toward the end of the period. A large scrum delayed the game for ten minutes and sent a few players to the showers early. In spite of this, Paul Richter #11 put one home shorthanded for the Orono Leafs to tie the game 2-2. In spite of being dominated in their end, the Leafs got a power play goal at 6:14 from #33 Evan Moore assisted by #12 Kyle Allin. At 8:41 of the second period #33 Evan Moore got his second of the night from #11 Paul Richter and #99 Stephen Hicks. Busy weekend for Major Plumbing Novice Reps The Orono Major Plumbing Novice Reps had two busy weekends. The first weekend, they won both games decisively. They beat Port Perry 6-1 and Beaverton 8-0. Congratulations to Josh Kelly on his first shutout of the year. Scoring goals were Matt Verkuyl (5), Dylan Dennis (4), Chris Haass (2), Ryan Walton (2) and Patrick McKay (1). Assists went to Chris Haass (5), Warren Ball (3), Jennifer Mercer (2), Ian Third (2), Patrick McKay (2), Matt Verkuyl, Dylan Dennis and Mitch Marchbank. The next weekend, Orono met the Omemee Sharks and tied them 3-3. Patrick McKay had two goals and Matt Verkuyl had one. Assists went to both Matt Verkuyl (2), Josh Gallina, Ian Third, and Jennifer Mercer. On the Sunday, Orono trav elled to Fenelon Falls where they won 10-0. Goal scorers were Matt Verkuyl (2), Patrick McKay (2), Dylan Dennis (3), Warren Ball (2) and Chris Haass (1).
