4 - Orono Weekly Times, Wednesday, June 11,2003 Places I've Done Time by Clifford Francis A miracle for Marcy Saturday I went to see Marcy Trimble-Drumm who lives down at Cordova Mines with her mom and dad. They reside on the site of the former gold mine that is now closed in a beautiful old home that once housed the mine manager and some of the miners. There may not be much gold in the ground there but the people who live and go to that home have golden hearts. Marcy is quite ill and needs constant care. Her father John Trim-ble and mother Mabel (former (former owner of the Orono Village Cafe) provides such care. Marcy has four wonderful sisters--B.J., Kelly, Elaine and Julie, plus two beautiful daughters--Penny daughters--Penny and Michelle. They each take turns staying with Marcy 24 hours-a-day. Even when it's not their day to be with their mother or sister, extra people drop in. When I was down on Saturday, both daughters and three sisters where there making Marcy's day better. Marcy was a big part of my life for a long time and even more so for my daughter Jessica. From the time she was small it was Marcy that taught Jess about love and God and everything good. Marcy taught Jess how to swim, and saw her off to her first day at school and watched her grow into a young woman. I hope Marcy's strong faith and convictions convictions and trust in God will stay with Jess forever. Marcy is a huge Elvis Presley fan. I often told her Elvis had been sighted in and around Marmora many times. That could be one of the reasons she moved down that way. Jessie and I both know that we are truly blessed being a part of someone's life as kind and as beautiful as Marcy--her being ill saddens us. Each night when we say our prayers, we ask for a miracle for Marcy.
