This award, is given by the Aggregate Producers' Association Association to member producers who operate their business with care and concern for the environment and for the communities communities where they operate. Many of these visitors who worked in the textile industry in Toronto, chose to vacation in Pontypool for its dry air, clean water and old world charm. The first Jewish family to settle in Pontypool was that of Moishe Yuklc. He later became known as Morris Bernstein, and he played a major role in helping to bring to Canada many of the Jewish families who settled in the Kensington Market area. The Crystals, Manettas and Lofchicks families operated resorts in Pontypool with fine kosher dining, swimming pools, beaches and entertainment. entertainment. Local families such as the Bernsteins, Millers, Whites, Bornsteins, Kravitzes and others, others, operated self-catered cottages cottages hosting over 1,000 people people per weekend.
