August 10, 2005 Kendal Eagles head into playoffs The Kendal Eagles finished finished the 2005 regular season in winning fashion this past Sunday in Kendal with a 4-0 victory over the Pickering Red Sox. Mark Foster picked up his fourth win of the season season tossing a complete game shut-out giving up 4 hits and striking out 7. Steve Foster led the offence going 1 for 3 with 2 R.B.I.'s. Steve also played some stellar defence at shortstop, making some key plays throughout the game. The Eagles are now heading heading into the playoffs with a record of 16 and 12. In a rematch from the 2004 play- downSi the Kendal Eagles will be playing off against the Whitby Canadians to see who will represent the EOBA in the Senior "B" Ontario Baseball Association Playoffs on the Labour Day Weekend in Courtright. In 2004, * Kendal swept the Canadians in 2 straight games by scores of 11-0 and 3-2. This year Kendal faces a much tougher Whitby club that has added some big bats and improved its defence significantly. Jeremy also placed 3rd in the 12 and under kayak Jeremy Moore, of Starkville, as he crosses the finish line at the annual Jack's Lake Regatta in Apsley. Moore Jeremy Moore won the 12 & under 5K marathon race held at the Jack's Lake Regatta in Apsley on July 31, 2005. He accomplished this in under 21 minutes. The race started at 9 a.m. with all ages running together, adults and children. Jeremy had been training for this run, and actually came in 5th overall overall ages. The Jack's Lake Regatta held annually for the past 62 years, hosts t^oth land and water competitions. The top three competitors are each photo supplied race and 1st in the Tug of War with fellow teammate Troy Dillon as the anchorman.
