The Durham Regional Police Service will officially launch the 2000/2001 R.I.D.E. program at Durham College, 2000 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 24, 2000. Guest speakers will include Durham Chief of Police Kevin McAlpine and representatives of the newly formed MADD Durham Chapter. MADD will be presented presented with a donation from the Durham College Student Crime Stoppers program. Our web site also features links to many other resources, including homework helpers and Electric Library Canada. ; The TD Summer Reading Club marked an exciting new partnership for us, and, with the help of our wonderful summer student workers, the Club was a great success. Thanks also go out to Professor Biblios. Our Newcastle Village Branch celebrated its tenth anniversary in its current location. The Bowmanville Branch is now open on Sundays, offering the full range of library services. But as demand for library services has grown, it has highlighted the need for a new Main Branch. To that end, planning began, and continues, for a new library sited at the old ltquor store adjacent to the Town Hall in Bowmanville.
