Large drug seizure At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 20th, 2000, members of the', Durham Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed executed a search warrant at an unoccupied house on Centrefield Drive in Courtice. Officers discovered the house had been turned into a large hydroponics lab with four growing rooms, a drying room and a cutting room, and was being used solely for the production of Marijuana. An elaborate system of automatic sprinklers sprayed chemicals on the plants, while carbon dioxide was automatically pumped into the house to aid in the growing. Officers seized 1,123 Marijuana plants in various stages of growth, with a street value of $2,000,000 as well as several thousand dollars worth of hydroponics equipment equipment and drug paraphernalia. As yet, no arrests have been made, but the investigation investigation continues. .
