Police Foundations Two new exhibits can be seen at the Bowmanville Museum. Both are Installed in the Marion Wiseman Gallery, and both commemorate commemorate important milestones in Bowmanville history. The first celebrates the 70th Anniversary of the ' Bowmanville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. It features a large amount of memorabilia related to the Legion and its diverse role in our community. Roger Leetooze and Donna Hilditch helped with the display. An interesting feature is a section section on the Legion Pipe Band with many photos from the 1950's. The second exhibit is the 100th Anniversary of the Bowmanville Women's Institute. The Women's Institute groups have served the Province for many years, but the Bowmanville Group is one of the oldest. The exhibit chronicles the groups' community work and how it has changed over the century. century. ' The Museum is pleased to present these interesting exhibits to the public and would like to thank the Bowmanville Legion and Women's Institute for allowing allowing us to be their venue. For the summer months our POW Log Cabin, from Bowmanville's Camp 30, will be open daily. Inside is a display display on the German Prison Camp. The Log Cabin is located on the Museum grounds.
