Tracy Fames, 2nd in flight, 4th overall in Pre-Novice in Kingston and will compete this week-end in Brockville. One was a Gideon Bible that had been read by people from various parts of the world. They had left their names arid addresses. addresses. You, no doubt know, that the Gideon Society places a bible in each hotel room and also gives a bible bible to each member of the Services. I was presented with one while in uniform. They also give a bible to each Grade 111 pupil in our schools. Iris also had "Ungers Bible Dictionary", Dictionary", a large dictionary. The most interesting of all was a very . large Bible entitled, "The "Chosen Word" with the Bible stories beautifully illustrated and the words of scripture underneath each illustration. She had a second collection of hymn books some of long ago of her Mother's of the Anglican church. A fine lunch was served by Mrs. E. Foster and our hostess. We extend our deepest sympathy to the Davies family of the Sixth: Through a letter on behalf of the Orono Downtown Business Association Kay Lycett, lawyer for the Association, has sought support from the Town of Newcastle for the undertaking of certain studies for what may be termed a mini-sewage system. The system would serve the downtown core of the Village in an area now defined by the limits of the Downtown Business Association. Association. Lycett in his letter mentioned the possible use of an area in the Wood •Walk Park for any system that may' be needed, if it is feasible. He said with work now underway for the development of the Park, it along with other items, could keep the downtown alive. Lycett points that to start the process a needs study is required, which must be instituted by the local municipality. He states that it believed that the need is present for such a system. Accompanying the letter was an attached petition signed, according to Lycett, by all property owners in the defined area. When the letter came before council Counc. Hamre proposed that preliminary investigation be undertaken through the proper staff. Line whose eighteen year old son Kenny Davies was killed, in a car accident accident on Saturday night when returning home ffom a volleyball game. A car crossed into the car in which Kenny was a passenger. The Davies family came to the Sixth Line eight years ago when Ralph Greenwood moved out of the home in the valley' and purchased (he farm home known .as the Jack Stapleton farm. It was noted that it is a Regional matter but,' that first a consultant report is required before assistance would be obtainablè from other sources in, funding. The Director of Public Works, Walter Evans, suggested that he first contact consultants as to the possible cost of the needs study. He said this information could be provided provided to council shortly and then a decision could be made. Gouncil is to await the information information from the Director of Public Works. Santa Letters being received at Post Office Canada Post Corporation is assisting Santa Claus with the annual annual Santa Letter Writing Campaign Campaign again this year. This marks the seventh consecutive year that ' Canada Post Corporation has helped Santa answer his letters on a , national basis. Designed to encourage youngsters to write to Santa, the " program enhances the theme of literacy and Christmas for children. It also promotes correct addressing of letters and use flf the postal code. Santa receives thousands of letters letters from children across Canada, as well as mail from youngsters in other parts of the - world. Santa always answers his letters in the language they are written. The program program owes its success to dedicated Canada Post employees who volunteer their spare time to answer children's letters.
