President Doreen Lowery welcomed those present and the meeting Opened with the singing of O'Canada accompanied by Gladys Brown at the piano. This was a record who with 23 exhibitions ' and 259 entries. Despite the dry summer, the exhibits exhibits were in excellent condition condition and were a delight to see. Secretary, Carol Mostert read the minutes of the May meeting and Adele McGill presented the Treasurer's report. Guest speaker, Mrs. Jean Foss of West Hill was introduced introduced by Isabelle Challice and gave an informative presentation on floral design. Demonstrating several designs using a variety of flowers and shrubbery from her flower gardens, Lawrence Staples thanked Jean for her demonstration. A tasty lunch served by Marjorie Marjorie Garrett, Thelma Vagg and Pat Windatt was enjoyed following the meeting. On September 17th the Sunday Sunday Flower Service is being held at Orono United Church with Mrs. Marion Milnes as the guest speaker. October 5th is the date of the Fall Flower Show, when the guest speaker will be Mr. Ed Endersby, who will speak on "Growing Under Lights."
