Over the past number of months the Ganaraska has been contemplating the change that amalgamation will bring about and has narrowed their choice down to eith the Ontonbee in the north or Central Ontario to the west. The Ganaraska is still talking to both authorities with no final decision on their part being made. A provincial report has suggested suggested that the Ganaraska and Central Ontario amalgamate. According to one report Central Central Ontario are to continue talks with the Ganaraska but are interested only in an eastern slice of the Ganaraska which would coincide with the Regional boundaries. CLOCA is also interested in a section of the Metro Authority and a portion portion of the Kawartha. The amalgamation would coincide with Regional boundaries. It could mean that the Wilmot watershed will go to CLOCA and a portion of the headwaters of the Ganaraska River.
