Babes In Bookland by Dorothy Robinson Last month, I recommended a book "Love You Forever" which lends itself to the sentiments expressed expressed on Mother's Day. It is not to easy to find a simple children's book keyed to a relationship with "good old Dad." However, "Daddy-Care" fills the bill in an amusing way. Using the ploy of role reversal, the author shows Danny, the son, urging Dad to get up, dress, and breakfast without "dilly-dallying." Then it's off to daycare for Dad while Danny heads for a serious business like session at school. As with "Love You Forever,'" the appeal is there for both children and adults. Children love to see the young boy in charge, and adults are tickled by the show and tell session where the Dads boastfully display their convertibles and vans. This is another book from Annick Annick Press which is giving publishing opportunities to many talented Canadian authors and illustrators illustrators Torontonian Allen Morgan became interested in children's books while teaching kindergarten. It was from this experience experience with young children that his story ideas developed. He has a son of his own too. The illustrator, John Richmond, a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, now lives near Claremont. A fun gift for Father's Day, on display at the Apple Blossom Shop. P.S. - "Love You Forever" is still for sale at the shop.
