Orono members active at district Horticultural The 1981 Ontario Horticultural Horticultural Association Convention Convention was held June 17, 18 and 19 at the Sheraton-Brock Hotel, Niagara Falls, On-, tario. This being a com-. memorative occasion as the O.H.A. is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year: 1906 -1981. A beautiful hand-crafted plaque, made by Don Evans, Orono and commemorating the O.H.A.'s 75th anniversary anniversary was placed on the speakers platform throughout the convention. District 17 (of' which Orono Society is part) entered the district activity display - "Down Memory Lane" and received third prize for their fine efforts. This display was assembled by David and Lynn Harrison, Orono. We are very proud of the Orono Junior Gardeners for the fine artistic exhibits entered in the competition • 'Pin It". For the 6 to 9 years of age competition, Jackie Çowen won 4th prize. Douglas Bradley won first prize in the 9 to 12 years of , age group. Those attending the Convention Convention from the Orono Hor- ticuttiral Society were Mr. & Mrs. Don Evans, Mr. & Mrs, David Harrison, Mrs. Merle Gilbart, Mrs. Adele McGill, Mrs. Helen Robinson and Mrs. Lorna Atkins.
