Ladies Lobb Ball league ended the regular season with top position. Thé Armstrong team had a total of 34 points compared to 27 points for their closest rivals Dykstras of Bowmanville. In the playdown series now underway underway Armstrongs have received a bye into the final round. The semi-final series, now underway, underway, make use of the Orono Park diamond with games on September 5, 6, 11 and 12. Dykstras are playing off with Champlain, Toms and Sons with Banner Passant, Elliotts with St, Mary's and Jensen Steel against Heritage House. The schedule for the finals have yet to be drafted. However, individuals may apply for a licence at 15 years of age, providing they have consent in writing from both parents or legal guardians. Safe handling of firearms is a must for all hunters. In order to obtain a hunting licence, an individual must provide proof of a previous licence to hunt or. must pass a hunting licence examination. Anyone less than 20 years of age must complete a hunter safety training course given by a certified instructor prior to applying for a hunting licence examination. OPP Superintendent Jim Villemaire, the chief provincial provincial firearms officer, says, "We're expecting a large number of applications to be • made by people who are getting equipped for thé upcoming season." ' It could take several weeks for your firearms acquisition certificate to come through. By applying now, you will have a better chance of getting an FAC before the hunting season approaches. About thirty thousand firearms firearms acquisition certificates have been issued since the . new law came into effect on January 1. This figure is expected to increase drastically drastically come September.
