And our food (Continued to page 2) Individual schools to determine spray plan The Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education Education on Thursday evening placed the decision to spray school grounds this coming spring in the hands of a special committee for each school.. It will now be the decision of the principal of the school 'along with that of the custodian custodian and the maintenance foreman if grounds are to be sprayed or not. Last Tuesday the Official Board of the Orono United Church gave their approval to sponsor one family to Orono. This week on Tuesday the final application was made with the Immigration Department with the Church group now to await word on the arrival of the new family to Canada. There was no indication when the family will arrive but is expected within a couple of months. Mr. Robert Hancock has taken over chairmanship of the committee. It is expected that the Church group and the Curvply group will work together in their endeavours to locate these families within the community. Further information is available from Mr. Hancock or this paper. The Oshawa office of the Immigration Department has processed some fifty sponsorships in their area and comments that it is the smaller centres who are becoming involved. It was also pointed out that the greatest number of Boat People are being sponsored in Peterborough. The interest in Oshawa has been slight.
