Last Tuesday the Eagles lost a tough 9-8 decision in 14 innings to the Whitby Merchants. Kendal took leads twice in the extra innings but Whitby kept fighting back and eventually won it in the bottom of the 14th inning. Ralph Kennedy, who pitched the last seven innings took the loss to bring his record to 3-1. Jerry Thompson lead Kendal with five hits and 3 RBI's. Our first on Tuesday evening against Thornton Dundee in Oshawa which Orono lost #0. ' Most of the play during the game was in Orono's end and as a result goalies Blain Bruton and Bob Snooks and fullback Mark Sargent thwarted thé attackers many times. Our second game on _Wednesday against Bowmanville Rangers in Bowmanville Bowmanville terminated with an 11-1 victory for the Rangers. However Orono showed great promise of better games ahead. ■ Scott Irwin scored the lone goal for Orono when he blasted the ball past the goaltender from 20 yards out.
