The funeral of Wallace Thurston took place in Bob- caygeon last week. He was the husband of Lenora Cornish Cornish who grew Up on the sixth line and attended the sixth line school. She was a graduate nurse of the Oshawa Memorial Hospital. We extend extend our sympathy to Lenora and her family. Hydro offers a 8 p.c. settlement Ontario Hydro has offered a contract settlement valued at 8 per cent to renëw its collective agreement with the Ontario Hydro Employees' Union, CUPE Local 1000. t At a meeting April 1, the union's executive board recommended recommended that members reject the settlement. The union's 15,000 members across Ontario will now vote on the offer. If rejected, Hydro and the employees' union will be in a. legal strike-lockout position late in April.
